Dear Angry
Girl,
I was
listening to the radio when you called in threatening to never listen to that
station if they played Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass” ever again. First
of all I’d like to say good for you! Everyone should stand up for what they
believe in and with just as much conviction as you displayed.
However, I
think you’re wrong. You said you hated that song and Meghan Trainor should be
ashamed of herself for making fun of skinny girls. You also went on to say her
song was going to make women become obese.
My question
to you is… what planet are you from?! For years the “skinny girls” have been
the ones to get noticed for all of their positive attributes and now it’s time
for the curvy girls to get in on some of that action. The song is an anthem
that helps represent a group of women that have been looked down on and made
fun of. It is an uplifting song that quit frankly I think anyone could shake
their ass to.
Women spend
so much time hating their bodies whether they are small or big and this song is
telling them to love the skin they’re in. How can that be taken as a bad thing?
Oh and by
the way, a song cannot make anyone obese. Meghan Trainor cannot make anyone
obese. I highly doubt that after listening to that song all of the skinny girls
balled up in the corner crying stuffing themselves with junk food just so they
can have “All the right junk in all the right places.” No, instead I bet they
get up and dance to the damn song and enjoy the catchy lyrics instead of
dissecting them like you did.
Look I
understand how there can be hurt feelings over the whole “skinny bitches” part
but come on, let the curvy girls have this one.
Sincerely,
A Curvy
Girl
P.S. I'd love to know your thoughts on Nicki Minaj.
HAHA oh my goodness, I read all the way through nodding in agreement and thinking how ridiculous some people can be, and then i saw your post script - "I'd love to know your thoughts about Nicki Minaj" - and burst out laughing! Honestly, some girls have nothing better to do than rip into other people. It's really sad. Great post though sweet!
ReplyDeleteThanks MJ. Between the 2 of us we'll whip these girls into shape and teach them some girl power lol
DeleteOh gee, she also states shes just playing with her quote to skinny girls & to love yourself from the bottom to the top. Agree, love the skin your in.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea how she missed that part. I guess some people only hear what they want to hear.
DeleteYou go girl! Some people sound very ignorant. A song can't make people obese or anything else. It's just a song. I don't understand why "people" would have a problem with this song and not with songs like Anaconda and Booty. Love that you took a stand.

Exactly!!! There is no need to take a stand when it's a positive message.
